Florida State junior defensive end Bjoern Werner will declare for the 2013 NFL Draft, according to a report from ESPN's Joe Schad. His decision to declare isn't surprising, as many draft watchers project him as a possible Top 10 pick.

Werner, a 6’4, 255-pound end from Berlin who did not begin playing organized football until he was 15, emerged as one of the star players on a dominating Seminoles defense this season. He had 42 tackles, including 18 for loss, as well as 13 sacks.
With the NFL becoming more passing-oriented every year, pass rushers are at a premium for almost every NFL team, particularly two-way players like Werner who can also hold up against the run.
Werner was a first-team All-ACC and consensus All-American selection this season. He was one of the key players on a Florida State defense that gave up only 14.7 points a game, helping lead the Seminoles to an ACC championship and Orange Bowl victory.
