Texans Reach Out To Peyton Manning, According To Report

Just 24 hours ago it was believed the Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals were the top two suitors for free agent Peyton Manning. But now a few other teams have hopped into the talks. It was previously reported Manning will talk with the head coaches of the Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans.

Now there's a report from Mike Klis of the Denver Post that the Houston Texans recently inquired about Manning. It's unclear how serious they are about him, though.

The Texans have Matt Schaub under contract and he's a fine quarterback. There's nothing wrong with him. But he's not Peyton Manning. Houston's offense is dangerous enough that adding Manning would likely make them among the favorites to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.

With the Titans also interested, that’s two AFC South teams that have approached the idea of signing Manning. Of any teams, those in the AFC South should know Manning the best considering he faced them twice a year as a Colt.
