Brandon Lloyd Visiting San Francisco 49ers, According To Report

The San Francisco 49ers were active on the first day of the 2012 NFL free agency period, signing WR Randy Moss and CB Perrish Cox. They're hoping to add another receiver on Wednesday. According to reports, free agent WR Brandon Lloyd is visiting the 49ers.

Almost everyone connected Lloyd to the New England Patriots, which could explain why he didn't draw more interest on day one. Lloyd has said previously he hopes New England is interested. He also has a good history with Pats offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.

Lloyd is one of the top receivers on the market and the 49ers need receivers for Alex Smith. Their passing game was the weakness last year despite a run to the NFC Championship game. Adding Lloyd would be a big coup for San Francisco.
