The New York Giants are coming off a Super Bowl victory and for the most part have their team intact. One position of need for the Giants however is at the tight end position, which the Giants struggled with all during the 2011 season. There's only a handful of free agent tight ends available, including Martellus Bennett who the Giants signed on Wednesday. A former Giants tight end is interested in coming back to New York, according to a report by Gary Myers of The New York Daily News.
Jeremy Shockey Wants To Be A Giant, According To Report
Jeremy Shockey, who forced his way out of New York four years ago, needs a job and has let the Giants know he would like to return, the Daily News has learned.
The split between Shockey and the Giants didn't go so well as he was shipped off to the New Orleans Saints in the 2008 offseason. Towards the end of his tenure with the Giants, Shockey was not happy with being used more as a blocker than a receiver and according to Myers felt "left out" during the Giants 2007 Super Bowl run that Shockey missed dealing with a broken leg.
