Drew Brees Is Extremely Frustrated With Contract Negotiations

There's news to report on the Drew Brees contract negotiations, and it's going to make Saints fans cringe.

During an interview with WWL on Wednesday, Brees called the talks “extremely frustrating,” adding that he doesn’t think “the negotiation should be this difficult.”

The Saints placed the franchise tag on Brees back in March, which gave the sides until July 16 to finalize a long-term extension.

While many have criticized the Saints of not catering to their star quarterback, the negotiations have become far more complicated in the wake of Bountygate, which has shaken up the team’s coaching staff and cost the franchise plenty of money with a laundry list of fines.

With no deal signed, Brees has opted to sit out of the team’s offseason workout program while being very candid with the media regarding what he sees as a lack of urgency from the Saints to knock out a new deal.
