The New England Patriots already have arguably the best tight end in the NFL in Rob Gronkowski and have a more than capable "back up" tight end in Aaron Hernandez, who's a fantastic tight end in his own right. It appears, however, that New England would like to field an all-tight-end team on offense, bringing in free agent tight end Visanthe Shiancoe for a visit, according to a report by Sam Wyche of NFL Network.

Free agent Visanthe Shiancoe will meet with the tight-end rich New England Patriots on Thursday, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

The 32-year old Shiancoe had his best days with the Minnesota Vikings after being selected by the New York Giants in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft, where he played back up to Jeremy Shockey. Shiancoe reportedly turned down a deal with the Seattle Seahawks, but will now take a visit up to Foxboro to potentially join the New England Tight Ends.
