No Rob Gronkowski Injury Update From Bill Belichick

Rob Gronkowski's status for Feb. 5's Super Bowl XLVI encounter between the New England Patriots and New York Giants remains unknown. Patriots head coach Bill Belicheck shed almost no light on the situation when asked about it during a Tuesdays press conference (via ESPN).

“Well, we’ll see how it goes with Rob and some of the other players that are getting treatment when we get back out on the field. We haven’t practiced, obviously, in the last couple of days. We’ll just see how all that is when it’s time to go.”

Gronkowski suffered what appeared to be a pretty serious ankle injury during the third quarter for Sunday's win over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC championship game. He was removed from the game and did not return.

There are apparently those within the Patriots organization that fully expect the record-setting tight end to play against the Giants. A source told the Boston Herald that “He’ll be ready to go.”
