Aaron Rodgers was named the Associated Press' 2011 NFL Most Valuable Player at the NFL Honors Ceremony on Saturday night for his efforts in leading the Green Bay Packers to the NFL's best regular season record at 15-1.

Rodgers threw for 4,643 yards and 45 touchdowns for the Packers, setting new franchise highs in both categories, and led the NFL with a 122.5 passer rating. He cruised to the MVP award as a result: Rodgers earned 48 of the 50 votes cast for NFL MVP by the media members who vote on the award, while Drew Brees, named AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year by the AP earlier in the NFL Honors Ceremony, received the other two votes.
Rodgers becomes the first Packers player to be named the NFL MVP since Brett Favre's last of three consecutive NFL MVPs in 2007. He is the third different quarterback to be honored as the NFL's MVP, following Tom Brady in 2010 and Peyton Manning in 2009.
