The New England Patriots will have a welcome addition to their offensive line when they play the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI. Offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer is active and is expected to play in the game.

Vollmer has missed the last seven games with back and foot injuries. It’s unclear if he will start or play a reserve role but Pats offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia indicated earlier in the week that he will likely play.
This gives the Patriots some more flexibility with Nate Solder at offensive tackle with some of the Giants defensive linemen, so this is good news for Tom Brady.
So for the first time since late November, the Patriots will have their starting right tackle in the lineup.
