Most Super Bowl Wins: New York Giants Pass New England Patriots To Reach Four First

With their 21-17 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI, the New York Giants passed their new arch-rival along the Acela corridor to win their fourth Super Bowl championship in franchise history.

Their four titles, with two coming under Bill Parcells and two under Tom Coughlin, puts New York in a tie for third with the Green Bay Packers, behind only the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers with five and the Pittsburgh Steelers with six.

New England, meanwhile, is still stuck on three, despite being tied for second all-time with seven appearances in the big game.

But while the Giants have made the most of their opportunities on the NFL's biggest stage, with their only loss coming in 2000 to the Baltimore Ravens, the Patriots are now tied with the Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos with four Super Bowl losses.

None hurt more than 2007 and 2011, when they had a fourth-quarter leads on New York only to watch Eli Manning march his team down the field and score the winning TD in each game's final moments.
