The Caps continue to struggle away from home in a 5-2 loss to the Kings at Staples Center.
Things didn’t change for the Caps Monday in a 5-2 loss to the Kings. What also didn’t change is Washington’s general lack of road success this season.
Washington's 7-12-1 road record and 15 points are second-worst in the Eastern Conference; only the Carolina Hurricanes' 12 points are lower. The Caps are also 1-6-0 on the road against Western Conference opponents.
There is a 13-goal differential between the home (65) and road (52) totals for the Caps and they've only scored nine power play goals while allowing 19. Luckily for the Caps, they begin a four-game homestand Wednesday against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Unfortunately, Washington can't stay there for the rest of the season.
