Toledo junior wide receiver Eric Page is only 43 behind former Oklahoma receiver Ryan Broyles for the NCAA record in receptions. That is a record that won't get broken anytime soon. Page told the Toledo Free Press that he will forgo his senior season and enter the 2012 NFL Draft.
Toledo’s Eric Page says no to NCAA records, yes to NFL Draft
“It’s always been my dream to play in the NFL and I think right now is a great opportunity for me,” Page told the newspaper. “This would have never been able to happen without my teammates, coaches and my family.”
The NFL Draft advisory committee informed Page he would be drafted between the third and fifth round. Without incredible speed or size (5-foot-10, 180 pounds), it’s unlikely Page’s stock would have risen during his senior season.
He is coming off a year of 125 receptions for 1,182 yards and 10 touchdowns. He really burst onto the scene this season after finishing with 12 catches for 145 yards and two touchdowns against Ohio State in September. He finishes his career with 306 receptions.
