Return of Tyler Wilson bolsters 2013 NFL Draft QB class

Although the 2013 NFL Draft quarterback class won't feature an elite talent like Andrew Luck or a premier athlete like Robert Griffin III, it's loaded with several high draft picks. That was bolstered today when Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson chose to go back to school for his senior season.

It was a wise move by Wilson who, while talented, is light on experience and needs refinement in the pocket. If he comes along as expected next season, he should be considered as highly as Southern California's Matt Barkley, another senior returnee. Both are rugged pocket passers with solid arms and plenty of weapons on offense from which to choose. Assuredly, the two will be compared throughout the next college football season.

They'll have plenty of challengers for first-round status next April. Oklahoma's Landry Jones and Florida State's E.J. Manuel each have good size and arms, but have struggled at times when the pocket breaks down. West Virginia's Geno Smith has struggled with bouts of inconsistency, but could grow into a solid quarterback prospect as well.

Then there are the wild card juniors-to-be, headlined by Georgia's cannon-armed Aaron Murray, monstrous Virginia Tech signal caller Logan Thomas and Tennessee's Tyler Bray, who will be returning from injury.
