No. 25 Kansas State vs. Oklahoma State: Wildcats Go On The Road And Knock Off Struggling Cowboys

On a poor shooting day for both squads, Frank Martin’s team went to Stillwater and came out with a 66-58 win over the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

The Kansas State Wildcats went on the road in-conference on Saturday to defeat a struggling Oklahoma State team, 66-58. Frank Martin’s club was led by the guard duo of Rodney McGruder and Angel Rodriguez, who each scored 14 points. A poor-shooting day by KSU kept it close against the inferior opponent. The Wildcats shot just 36 percent from the floor and an icy 21 percent from behind the arc. Rodriguez was able to consistently get into the lane and get to the line, but hit just 6 of 11 attempts from the charity stripe.

The Wildcats’ shooting efforts looked impressive compared to their opponent’s, as the Cowboys hit just one three-pointer all afternoon despite chucking it 14 times from deep. Kelton Page led those efforts, hitting just one of nine from downtown. He finished with a team-high 17 points, but was woeful from the field all afternoon. All those bricks led to a whopping 22-rebound advantage on the glass for the Wildcats, which was the difference in the game.

Martin’s team slogged it out to improve to 14-4 and an even 3-3 in the Big 12. Oklahoma State is now just 9-10 on the year and 2-4 in the conference.
