Center fielder Coco Crisp is re-signing with the Oakland Athletics on a two-year deal worth $14 million.

Crisp will also get a $0.25 million bonus if he’s traded. Probably a good thing to secure if you’re signing with the A’s.
Crisp earned $5.75 million last season. He gets a bit of a raise, and he doesn’t have to pack up his things. Packing is the worst.

That logic doesn’t make sense, but it’s true. And now we have this:
A Crisp signing would push Reddick out of center (probably a good thing), but it would probably be a spring training between 25-year-old outfielders Cowgill and Taylor for the last outfield spot. Taylor is the more highly ranked of the two, though his star has dimmed with two so-so seasons in AAA. Cowgill hit .354/.430/.554 in AAA last year (wow!) in Reno (oh).
