Many wondered if Alex Ovechkin would ever be the same player again after his career-worst output last season (32 goals, 53 assists). This season, the talk continued when Ovechkin struggled from the start, scoring just seven goals through his first 20 games.
Flames Vs. Capitals: Alex Ovechkin Continues Hot Streak In Caps’ 3-1 Win
Alex Ovechkin’s hot streak continued against the Flames in a 3-1 win.

Yet, based on his recent stretch, it looks like the “Wing of Wings” is back on his throne.
Ovechkin's fourth two-point night in as many games led the Washington Capitals to a 3-1 win over the Calgary Flames Tuesday.
Ovechkin scored just 1:11 into the game on a one-timer from Marcus Johansson, a lead that the Caps did not relinquish. He later assisted on Troy Brouwer's power play goal to put Washington up 2-0. Ovechkin has a seven-game point streak, scoring seven goals and picking up four assists.
It’s no coincidence that the Caps are 5-1-1 in those seven games. They go as Ovechkin goes. Tuesday, it was no different, but it was quite serendipitous that he continued to heat up against the Flames.
