Stars Vs. Predators: Shea Weber’s Return Forgettable In Nashville’s 4-1 Loss

Shea Weber returned Thursday in the Predators’ 4-1 loss to the Stars.

Nashville Predators defenseman Shea Weber's return from a concussion had the city buzzing, so much so that the "Smashville" faithful set a franchise record with seven consecutive sellouts. Yet, the only real buzzing that occurred Thursday was around the Predators' net as the Dallas Stars defeated them 4-1.

Weber was pointless in 25:45 with a team-high 27 shifts, four shots and five hits, but finished with a minus-2 rating. He was on the ice for Dallas’ final two goals.

Weber's teammates, however, made sure to exact revenge on the Stars, who were responsible for putting him out of action December 23. Jordin Tootoo fought Mark Fistric, the main culprit, early in the game to defend Weber's honor.

Despite the loss, Weber did not look like he missed any time. He and Ryan Suter complete the NHL's most dynamic defensive pair and as the captain, Weber's presence is vital for the Predators' playoff hopes.
