LeSean McCoy injury: ‘Little tweak’ should be fine

LeSean McCoy has some minor swelling in his knee, but he should be fine moving forward.

Howard Smith-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy injured his knee in Sunday night's victory over the New York Giants, but head coach Andy Reid said that it is nothing more than a little tweak, according to NFL reporter Adam Caplan. Reid acknowledged that McCoy's knee is swelling up, but then reiterated that he is fine.

McCoy rushed for 123 yards on 23 carries Sunday night and added 17 yards on three receptions as well. McCoy has 384 yards and one touchdown on 81 rushing attempts through four games this season.

Luckily for Philadelphia, McCoy’s injury is only minor and is unlikely to cause him to miss any games, as losing their start running back would be devastating to an Eagles offense in need of every point it can muster. Philadelphia is 3-1 on the season, but they have given themselves almost no room for error in each of their three wins. In those three victories, they won by a combined four points.

LeSean McCoy and the Eagles face the Pittsburgh Steelers next Sunday.
