eBay Item of the Day: Mr. Chewing Tobacco

I don’t see “Mr. Chewing Tobacco” listed as one of Hall of Famer Nellie Fox’s nicknames on baseball-reference.com, but, according to this pouch of Favorite brand chewing tobacco from 1963, that’s just what he was called. Perhaps it wasn’t a nickname, though. Maybe “Mr. Chewing Tobacco” is an honorific title. If so, Nolan Ryan needs to look into what it would take to be so named on Josh Hamilton’s behalf.
