St. Louis Cardinals vs. Washington Nationals, 2012 NLDS Game 5

Friday, October 12 at 8:30 PM EDT on TBS

The Washington Nationals forced a decisive Game 5 in their NLDS match-up with the St. Louis Cardinals with a thrilling walk-off home run off the bat of Jayson Werth. Game 5 will feature a re-match of starters from Game 1, as the Cardinals will call upon Adam Wainwright and the Nationals will send out Gio Gonzalez. Wainwright was strong in Game 1, striking out 10 and allowing only one run. Gio Gonzalez was far from the Cy Young-quality form he showed through the regular season, walking seven Cardinals' hitters.

The Nats have been outscored 23-9 in the four games so far, but all that really matters is that the winner of this game moves on to face the Giants in the NLCS. If the Nats win, Game 1 will be Sunday in Washington; if the Cardinals win, Game 1 will be Sunday in San Francisco.

TBS announcers for Friday night’s game will be Dick Stockton, Bob Brenly and David Aldridge.
