NBA preseason scores: Rockets improve to 2-0, Thunder now 0-2

Houston won its second preseason game, Oklahoma City lost its second and Cleveland topped Chicago in NBA preseason action Friday night.

The revamped Rockets got 17 points in 28 minutes from guard Kevin Martin and rolled to a 95-75 win over New Orleans in preseason basketball Friday in Houston.

Jeremy Lin added nine points and seven assists and Donatas Montiejunas added 13 points for the Rockets (2-0).

The Hornets (0-2) got 15 points from Al-Farouq Aminu in the loss.

The defending Western Conference champion Oklahoma City Thunder lost its second consecutive preseason game, dropping a 97-81 decision to Utah. Mo Williams had 15 points in his first game in Utah after re-joining the team that drafted him in 2003. He was acquired this offseason in a trade with the Clippers.

The Thunder didn't play Russell Westbrook, Kendrick Perkins and James Hardin, but Kevin Durant had nine points and three assists in 19 minutes.

Dion Waiters scored 18 points in Cleveland's 86-83 win over the Bulls in Chicago. Anderson Varejao added eight points and nine rebounds for the Cavaliers (2-1), while Kirk Heinrich had 14 points and eight assists for Chicago (1-1).

The Toronto Raptors (2-1) got 14 points from DeMar DeRozan in their 82-75 win over the visiting Pistons Friday. Rodney Stuckey had 14 points for Detroit (1-1).

The Pacers (1-1) were led by Paul George's 19 points in their 96-91 preseason win over the Minnesota Timberwolves (1-1). Derek Williams had 25 points and nine rebounds for the Timberwolves.

The Nuggets improved to 2-0 behind 24 points from Corey Brewer in a 97-91 win over San Antonio. The Spurs (2-1) got 21 points and eight rebounds from Tim Duncan in the loss.
