The St. Louis Cardinals are now the favorite to win the 2012 World Series, according to the latest odds from Bovada.com. The site is giving 3/1 odds that the 2011 World Series champions repeat. Odds on a victory by their National League Championship opponents, The San Francisco Giants, are 11/4. In the American League, the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees are being given the same odds on taking it all, 5/2.

The Game 5 comeback by the Cardinals has given their hopes quite a boost. The Daily News reported that the Cards were getting 9/1 odds on a victory a week ago, when the Yankees were 4/1 favorites for a World Series win.

Odds for the Game 1 ALCS matchup between the Tigers and Yankees, Bovada is favoring the Yankees by 1½ runs. Doug Fister will be on the mound for Detroit, facing off with Andy Pettitte for New York.
