Vogelsong threw seven shutout innings against the Cardinals August 8 in St. Louis, and is coming off a solid outing in Game 5 of the NLDS against the Reds in which he threw five innings and allowed just three hits and one run. Players on St. Louis' playoff roster are hitting .268 (15-for-56) against Vogelsong with one home run (Beltran).
