Well, that's not exactly how South Carolina fans wanted this game to start. Gamecocks' QB Connor Shaw fumbled the ball on USC's first play, giving Florida the ball at the three yard line. Jeff Driskel would hit Jordan Reed in the endzone to give the Gators the early 7-0 lead.

Hope is not lost if you’re a South Carolina fan. The Gamecocks got a gift penalty call on the ensuing drive during a punt attempt, extending the drive near midfield and leading to a field goal to cut the lead to 7-3.
In the meantime, let’s all watch Steve Spurrier’s face turn all kinds of red and see if we can get Crayola to invent a new color. If the old ball coach wasn’t happy with Connor Shaw after USC’s loss to LSU last week, he can’t be thrilled with how this week is shaking out so far.
That said, this is Florida, so we’re in for all kinds of fun (and penalties!) in the first half.
