Middle Tennessee was able to keep the game close through the first half, as Mississippi State took a 10-3 lead into the break. But the Bulldogs broke things open in the third quarter. Running back LaDarius Perkins scored on a 64-yard scamper and quarterback Tyler Russell threw his second and third touchdown passes of the game.
Mississippi State rounded out the scoring with two more rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter.
Box Score Hero: Russell didn’t surpass 200 yards passing, but he did complete 17 of his 21 attempts and threw for three scores for the Bulldogs.
