This game was all offense from the start. The Bears and Longhorns combined to score 35 points in the first quarter, only to top this output with 38 in the second.

Bears quarterback Nick Florence scored with his legs and his arm in the opening quarter, as Baylor took a 21-14 lead. It was then all Longhorns running back Joe Bergeron in the second quarter, as the sophomore registered three rushing touchdowns to help Texas enter the half with a 42-31 advantage.

Baylor scored three times in the third, including two 40-plus-yard field goals by kicker Aaron Jones, to make it a one-possession game heading into the final quarter.

Longhorns quarterback David Ash tossed his first touchdown pass of the game to make it 56-43. The Bears were able to one again cut it to six, as Florence scrambled for his second rushing touchdown, but Texas held on for the victory.
