That time a pitcher dumped water on Mitch Albom

The Tigers townsfolk are fed up with Jose Valverde, and rightly so. But if he really wanted to show some passion, he’d do what a former beloved Detroit closer, and a great one, did to a sports reporter in 1988:

Relief pitcher Willie Hernandez of the Detroit Tigers dumped ice water on a sportswriter Wednesday, accusing the writer of having turned Tiger fans against him.

Hernandez, without saying a word, picked up a large bucket of ice water, poured it over [Mitch] Albom’s head, then threw the bucket onto the floor and walked away, muttering.

Hernandez said that Albom called him a crybaby in a column, and I believe him. Bonus points if he said “How do my tears taste? COLD?” I am great at delayed comebacks.
