SEC refs need hazard pay

There’s a couple things to note about the refs in the South Carolina-Tennessee game. First, they’re all mic’d up on a channel with each other, meaning they don’t necessarily have to huddle around to discuss plays. Heck, they could have a running conversation during live-action if they’re good multi-taskers.*

*This is not encouraged. Refs have a hard enough time as it is.

I bring this up because I really want to know what the hit above sounded like

Being a ref is dangerous business, but I kind of like how the safety tries to avoid one hit and ends up taking out the ref. Also note that he slides on his chest. Have you ever done this? You know, expecting to slide headfirst, only to have your body skid to a half. The feet go up over the head and the result is kind of a scorpion thing.

Also props to No. 19 for the evasive maneuver. Head on a swivel out there.
