Giants World Series Parade: Celebration set for Halloween

The Giants will celebrate a World Series title at City Hall for the second time in three years.

San Francisco's Market Street will be decked out in orange and black on Oct. 31, but they won't be Halloween decorations. Instead, the World Series champion San Francisco Giants will return home for a ticker-tape championship parade on Wednesday. San Francisco mayor Ed Lee made the parade announcement following the Giants' 10-inning, 4-3 victory over the Tigers.

The parade will begin at 11 a.m. PT on Market Street. Mayor Lee did not announce the parade's exact route, but the final destination will remain the same as it was when the Giants captured the crown in 2010: the Civic Center Plaza. An official ceremony will take place when the Giants reach City Hall. There has been no word as to whether Aubrey Huff's rally thong will make an encore appearance.

San Francisco completed a four-game sweep against Detroit on Sunday night, capturing their second title on the West Coast. Pablo Sandoval, who hit three homers in Game One, was named the World Series MVP.
