The No. 23 Wisconsin Badgers started out the 2012-13 season in blowout fashion, defeating the Southeastern Louisiana Lions by a final score of 87-47.

The No. 23 Wisconsin Badgers had no problem taking care of business against the Southeastern Louisiana Lions in their season opener on Sunday.


The game was never in question for the Badgers, who jumped out to a 19-0 advantage out of the gate.
The score was 43-17 at halftime, and Wisconsin coasted through the second half to pick up the victory.
Senior big man Jared Berggren dominated the interior, finishing with 19 points, eight rebounds and four blocks in 24 minutes of action. He also went a perfect 7-7 from the foul line.
Junior guard Ben Brust put together an impressive statline of his own, with 14 points on 5-8 shooting to go with a game-high 11 rebounds. As a team, the Badgers outrebounded the Lions 47-17. They also put up 14 assists compared to just four for Southeastern Louisiana and shot 52.5 percent for the game.
Wisconsin will next take on the No. 10 Florida Gators on Nov. 14.
