Cowboys vs. Eagles results: Dallas picks up big win, 38-23
The Cowboys scored two touchdowns on defense and one on special teams, and Dallas defeated the Philadelphia Eagles.
The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Cowboys (4-5) and inserted Dallas back into the NFC East race. It was the Eagles’ (3-6) fifth consecutive loss.
Philadelphia opened the scoring, as Michael Vick threw a two-yard touchdown pass to Riley Cooper on the Eagles' first drive of the game. Dallas answered with a 13-play, 80-yard drive that took 7:40 off the clock. Tony Romo passed to Felix Jones for an 11-yard touchdown. Dan Bailey kicked a 30-yard field goal with 3:50 left in the second quarter to give the Cowboys a 10-7 lead at halftime.
In the second half, the game featured wild momentum swings. Nick Foles, on in relief for an injured Vick, threw a 44-yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Maclin, and Alex Henry kicked a 40-yard field goal to give Philadelphia a 17-10 lead in the third quarter. After that, Dallas took control.
Romo connected with Dez Bryant for a 30-yard score on the final play of the quarter to tie the game. Dallas built a 14-point lead in the first three minutes of the fourth quarter with touchdowns on a Dwayne Harris punt return and Brandon Carr interception return. The Eagles cut the Cowboy led to one possession with 1:55 left thanks to a Stanley Havili one-yard touchdown run, but on Philadelphia's final drive, Foles fumbled in the end zone, and Jason Hatcher recovered for a touchdown, providing the final margin.
Winners: Romo and the Cowboys were big winners. The Dallas quarterback had one of his best games of the season, completing 19 of 26 passes for 209 yards and two scores. The win, coupled with the New York Giants' loss earlier in the day, moved the Cowboys to within 1½ of first place in the NFC East.
Losers: The Eagles missed out on an opportunity to get back into the NFC East race, and Andy Reid’s seat just got a little bit hotter. Having lost five consecutive games, one has to wonder if the Philadelphia head coach will be back next season.
Stat of the game: The Eagles couldn’t do much on third down, as they converted just 1 of 10 attempts. Time after time, Philadelphia drives stalled out once the Eagles faced third down. Philadelphia gained 331 yards and 20 first downs, but third down killed the Eagles’ offense.
Fantasy studs/duds: Fantasy owners in possession of the Cowboys defense/special teams must be thrilled. Dallas scored touchdowns on a punt, interception and fumble return. Romo’s passing numbers were solid, as were Bryant’s 87 yards and one touchdown. For the Eagles, Maclin compiled 92 yards and a touchdown.
Anyone who started Vick Sunday will be kicking themselves. He finished the day with 70 yards and a touchdown on 6 of 9 passing and seven rushing yards. McCoy had 82 yards rushing and 20 yards receiving, but he didn’t find the end zone.

Injury info: Vick was injured in the second quarter and diagnosed with a concussion.
Next on the schedule: The Cowboys return to Dallas next Sunday for a 1 p.m. ET game against the Cleveland Browns. Philadelphia travels to face the Washington Redskins next Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
