The Los Angeles Angels might be interested in signing right-hander Hiroki Kuroda. However, he is mostly considered a fall-back option if they can't keep Zack Greinke, according to a report by Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com.

It all has to do with economics. Greinke might be looking for a deal worth at least $120 million and six years. That makes him a pricey option, especially when you consider the Halos paid $3.5 million to buy out Dan Haren's deal.
Kuroda could also come with a huge price tag. The Japanese veteran didn't accept the Yankees' $13.3 million qualifying offer, meaning he is looking for a better contract and more money elsewhere.
If the Angels can’t get Greinke to resign with them, Kuroda might be an option, especially when you consider he has expressed his desire of finishing his career in Japan. At age 37, that could mean he could be playing for only one more year in the United States.
Kuroda has several teams interested in him, according to previous reports, including the Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox.
