Texas Tech vs. Oklahoma State final score: Cowboys wrangle Red Raiders, 59-14

In a battle of two prolific passing attacks, Clint Chelf and the Cowboys proved too much for the Red Raiders

In what was supposed to be a dueling banjos of passing touchdowns, Texas Tech came in out of tune. In their 59-21 loss to Oklahoma State, the Red Raiders were torched through the air and unable to maintain drives against the Cowboy defense.

After a Texas Tech touchdown tied the game 7-7 early in the second quarter, Oklahoma State rattled off four touchdowns in a span of just seven minutes. In that quarter alone, the stunned Red Raiders gave up three touchdowns to wide receiver Isaiah Anderson, who caught touchdowns of 33, 60 and 62 yards from quarterback Clint Chelf.

The third quarter also belonged to the Cowboys, who scored two more touchdowns to put the game out of reach.

Oklahoma State won both the turnover and penalty battle in this game as the Red Raiders turned the ball over three times and committed 70 yards in penalties. The Cowboys held onto the ball and were penalized just 35 yards.

Box Score Hero: Wide receiver Isaiah Anderson scored three times on four catches, totaled 174 yards and, oh, by the way, had a 26-yard rush.

Rankings Ramifications: The No. 24 Cowboys, now 5-2 in the Big 12, will certainly jump the No. 23 Red Raiders and could crack the Top 20 if a few breaks go their way. Texas Tech, now just 4-4 in conference play, will likely drop out of the rankings.

But Did They Cover? If knocking off the best passing team in the nation wasn’t enough, the Cowboys handily covered the 10.5-point spread over the Red Raiders.
