As the NHL lockout lingers on, some of the best hockey action is in Europe’s KHL, which continues Sunday with a slate of seven games.
KHL schedule 2012: Top Western Conference teams in action on Sunday
The top seven teams in the Western Conference are in action, including Alex Ovechkin’s Dynamo Moscow.


There are several significant games in the Western Conference race today. Dynamo Moscow, leading the west with 53 points, gets a visit from Dinamo Minsk. Dynamo is led by Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin, while Minsk has a trio of NHLers, including the Minnesota Wild's Niklas Backstrom.
SKA Saint Petersburg, tied for second in the conference with 52 points, hosts the fifth-place Severstal Cherepovets. Ilya Kovalchuk leads a trio of NHL players for SKA.
Also tied for second in the conference is Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, who make a road trip to CSKA Moscow. CSKA features the Detroit Red Wings' Pavel Datsyuk.
