Argentinian raider Calidosocpio (ARG) powered to the front of the field in the final half-mile to win the 2012 Breeders’ Cup Marathon. Commander took the early lead and set expected soft fractions but by the time the field was six furlongs from home the leaders were starting to tire. Atigun assumed the lead on the turn but could not withstand the powerful finish of the South American raider.
