The Angels and Cubs nearly swapped pitchers on Friday night, but the deal reportedly fell apart late. It would have sent SP Dan Haren to Chicago in exchange for RP Carlos Marmol.
Angels trade Haren to Cubs for Marmol, reports say
Kelvin Kuo-US PRESSWIREKen Rosenthal of FOX Sports says the deal is not done yet, and that the Cubs only asked Marmol if he was willing to go to the Angels if the trade is completed. Marmol has a limited no-trade clause in his current contract with Chicago.
Yancen Pujols of the Dominican newspaper El Caribe was told by the 30-year-old pitcher that he was being shipped to California.
