The 2012 AHL schedule has become a source of comfort for hockey-starved fans, and with little good news coming from development in the lockout that trend looks to continue. The Saturday schedule has a full slate of action, including some interesting conference games.
AHL 2012 schedule: Bridgeport vs. Binghamton highlights Saturday action
With no good news coming from the NHL, why not turn to the AHL to get your hockey fix?


Both the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and the Binghamton Senators are just outside the top of the Eastern Conference and second in their respective divisions. They face each other on Saturday, so one will have a chance to advance while the other slips. The Springfield Falcons are in a simliar situation, facing the Manchester Monarchs in a contest featuring two of the top three teams in the Eastern Conference. The Grand Rapids Griffins and the Syracuse Crunch are in a different sort situation, leading their respective divisions and taking on basement-dwelling teams in the Peoria Rivermen and the Albany Devils.
