The 2012 Seattle Marathon is set to begin Sunday morning in Seattle where more than 17,000 people are expected to participate. Seattle’s marathon history dates back to 1970 when just 38 runners participated, but 42 years later the marathon has turned into one of the largest in the nation. Start Time: The Marathon Walk will begin at 7:15 a.m. to start things off with the Half Marathon Run at 7:30 a.m., the Half Marathon Walk at 7:45 a.m. and the Marathon Run at 8:15 a.m. launching the final wave of runners.
Weather Forecast: It will be a chilly morning for the marathon. Temperatures are expected to be in the high 30s to low 40s. Sunrise is at 7:30 a.m.
