FCS playoffs 2012 bracket: Stony Brook, South Dakota St. advance

Four teams advanced to the second round in the FCS playoffs on Saturday.

Stony Brook and South Dakota St. were among four teams to advance to the second round in the FCS playoffs, with the second round set to be played on Dec. 1.

South Dakota St. defeated Eastern Illinois, 58-10, as Zach Zenner’s three touchdowns and 295 yards rushing on 33 carries led the Jackrabbits in the convincing victory. SDSU will now face No. 1 North Dakota St. in the second round.

Miguel Maysonet rushed for 160 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries for Stony Brook, as the Seawolves took down Villanova, 20-10. Stony Brook will play No. 3 Montana State in the second round on Dec. 1.

Wagner will take on No. 2 Eastern Washington in the second round after a 31-20 win over Colgate, while Coastal Carolina will play No. 4 Old Dominion following their 24-14 win against Bethune-Cookman.

Semifinals in the FCS playoffs will be played on Dec. 14 and 15, while the FCS National Championship will be Jan. 5 at 1 p.m. ET in Frisco, Texas.
