The Panthers took the field on Monday night against the Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams have had their significant struggles this season, something ESPN's programmers wish they would have known many months ago when setting the schedule. This not-meant-for-prime-time game went to Carolina, 30-22. Finally the the Panthers were on the giving end of some bad news, they handed Philly its seventh straight loss.
How did the Panthers managed to win this anti-Super Bowl? Jaxon from Cat Scratch Reader knows it came down to something the Panthers haven’t been able to do all season - play without mistakes and capitalize on opportunities to shut the opponent down.
The Panthers played mistake free ball and avoided the killer turnovers that plagued earlier games. The defense was able to make some stops including a key 4th and inches play late int the 4th quarter to stop a potential Eagles game winning drive.
In the end, it all goes back to the outstanding game had by Newton. The QB completed 18-of-28 for 306 yards and two touchdowns, in addition to leading the Panthers in rushing with 15 carries for 57 yards and an additional two TD’s.Those stats are great but Jaxon has one more in mind that made all the difference.
