Boston College vs. Wake Forest 2012 results: Takeaways fuel Demon Deacons in 28-14 victory

A stellar day from Wake Forest wideout Michael Campanaro punctuated an easy victory

In an impressive first half, the Wake Forest passing game dominated Boston College, then cruised to a 28-14 victory at home against the Eagles. Tanner Price and Michael Campanaro hooked up three times in the first half for the Demon Deacons, with Campanaro finishing the game with 16 receptions.

BC’s failure to hold on to the ball killed any notion of a comeback with three interceptions and a lost fumble punctuating a sloppy day for the Eagles. Quarterback Chase Rettig threw the ball 50 times but completed just 30 passes in the comeback effort. Wake Forest was successful at sustaining large drives, winning the time of possession battle by holding the ball for almost 35 minutes. The Deacons were also 13 of 22 on third down, which helped wear down a beleaguered Boston College secondary, which was torched by Campanaro.

Box Score Hero: Wake Forest wideout Michael Campanaro torched BC's secondary with 16 receptions for 123 yards and caught all three of quarterback Tanner Price's touchdown passes.

Rankings Ramifications: While Boston College’s season is lost, the Demon Deacons have a good shot at a bowl game, and this win further pads their resume.

But Did They Cover? Giving 4 points to the Eagles, Wake Forest covered handily with a stress-free cover
