Ryan Raburn, who is making his first dalliance into free agency, has a number of suitors lining up for his services, including the Tampa Bay Rays, Texas Rangers, Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins. The 31-year-old utilityman has spent his entire major-league playing career with the Detroit Tigers.

The utility infielder could replace Jeff Keppinger in Tampa’s infield.

Raburn’s 2012 campaign was hampered by injuries, including a thumb sprain that caused him to miss 31 days and quad problems that cost him 54 days. When healthy, he hit just .171/.226/.254 in 222 plate appearances. He did, however, provide Detroit with positional flexibility, splitting time between second base and the outfield corners.
In his career, Raburn has hit .256/.311/.430, though he has not been able to replicate the success of his 2009 campaign, during which he hit .291/.359/.533. Raburn could replace the Rays' Jeff Keppinger, who departed via free agency and has since fractured his leg falling down the stairs of his home.
