We’re coming up on the 100th anniversary of the book How to Play Baseball, as penned by “The Greatest Baseball Players” (Ty Cobb, Eddie Collins, Tris Speaker and Frank Chance among others). Here are some questions:

1. Did any kid who read this book when it came out in 1913 or in subsequent years ever make it to the major leagues?

2. When is the last time somebody read it and got a playing tip from it that they were able to utilize in game conditions?

3. Do you think there’s anything in there that still be applied to the game today?
