No. 6 Syracuse vs. Arkansas final score: Orange survive road test against Razorbacks, 91-82

James Southerland exploded for 35 points off the bench as the No. 6 Syracuse Orange defeated the Arkansas Razorbacks, 91-82, at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, Ark.. The game was part of the SEC-Big East Challenge.

Southerland, a senior who is averaging 15.3 points per game this season, was unconscious from the field, draining 9-of-13 three-pointers and hitting 12-of-17 from the field overall. The Razorbacks held an early 10-9 lead, when Southerland came off the bench and drained two consecutive three-pointers, giving Syracuse a lead they would never lose. The Orange would stretch the lead to 12-13 multiple times. Arkansas was able to whittle the deficit down to three points early in the second half, but the Orange quickly built it back up to 11.

Southerland's 35 paced the Orange (6-0), while Brandon Triche and Michael Carter-Williams added 17 each. Syracuse shot 49% from the field and made 11 three-pointers, but 19 turnovers against Arkansas' pressure kept them from running away with the game.

B.J. Young led Arkansas (3-3) with 25 points, while Marshawn Powell contributed 19.

Syracuse takes the court again against Eastern Michigan on Dec. 3, while Arkansas hosts Oklahoma on Dec. 4.
