Giants vs. Falcons fantasy football projections: featuring David Wilson, Eli Manning and Matt Ryan

We take a closer look at the fantasy numbers for this Sunday’s match up between the New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons.

It comes as no surprise that Giants' running back Ahmad Bradshaw will not play against the Falcons this Sunday considering his left knee was heavily wrapped in practice on Friday. His injury means the long awaited first NFL start for David Wilson, who went off on the New Orleans Saints in Week 14, recording his first career 100 yard rushing game (13 carries, 100 yards) while also managing to return a kick for a touchdown (not to mention a whopping 327 total yards. Wilson probably won't rack up to many receptions for those in PPR leagues, but his rushing totals will certainly make up for that against a Falcons defense that has allowed the sixth most fantasy points to running backs over the past five weeks.

At the receiver position, Victor Cruz has now posted back to back 100 yard receiving games after catching eight passes for 121 yards on nine targets against the aforementioned Saints. Cruz's partner in crime Hakeem Nicks has definitiley been the lesser of the two fantasy wise due to injuries this season, but did manage his third touchdown of the season last week (four catches, 67 yards). For the Falcons, it looks like pro bowler Roddy White will be a game-time decision this week due to a knee ailment and with the Falcons' playoff spot locked up, they may indeed choose to sit White out. That could mean a big uptick for his counterpart Julio Jones this week as well as tight end Tony Gonzalez.

As is usually the case in the pass happy NFL, Matt Ryan and Eli Manning should both give their respective fantasy owners a shot at playoff glory this Sunday. Manning threw four touchdowns in a game for the first time since Week 3 last season. Ryan on the other hand threw for two scores to go along with 342 yards passing against the Carolina Panthers in Week 15. He should be in for solid fantasy numbers at the Georgia Dome this week, especially given the Falcons' seldom used running game
