The Butler Bulldogs improved to 9-2 on the 2012 season with a 75-67 victory over Evansville on Saturday afternoon. Rotnei Clark and Andrew Smith scored 20 points apiece for the Bulldogs.

For Butler, the victory was a hard-fought team effort, with five separate players scoring in double-figures. Rotnei Clarke led the Bulldogs with 20 points (including three 3-pointers), while Andrew Smith added 20 points and six rebounds as well. The win also marked Butler’s first time back on the court since their thrilling 88-86 overtime victory last Saturday over Indiana. At the time the Hoosiers were ranked No. 1 in the country, and their game against the Bulldogs proved to be their first loss of the season.
It was also Butler’s second win over a Top 10 opponent this year, after upsetting North Carolina in the Maui Invitational in November. The Tar Heels were ranked No. 9 in the country at the time.
Colt Ryan scored 25 points in a losing effort for Evansville. The Aces fell to 7-5 with the loss.
