2012 Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl streaming, TV schedule, radio and more

It was a disappointing season for both Michigan State and TCU, but each will look to end 2012 with a victory in this year’s Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl. Oklahoma beat Iowa 31-14 in last year’s game, which at the time was known as the Insight Bowl.

Michigan State and TCU were two of college football’s most disappointing teams this year, but each will look to build some momentum heading into 2013 when they get together in this year’s Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl. The game will kick off on Saturday, Dec. 29 at 10:15 p.m. ET.

When these two teams do take the field, it will feature two of college football’s best defenses. TCU had success in their first season in the offensive-minded Big XII, allowing just 332 yards per game as the nation's No. 18 ranked defense. Meanwhile Michigan State gave up just 16.3 points per game, which ranked them No. 10 in the country in scoring defense.

However, as good these two teams were on defense, their offenses were nearly as bad.

For TCU, their problems came when starting quarterback Casey Pachall was suspended (and subsequently left the team) four games into their season, which forced Trevone Boykin into the starting lineup. The redshirt freshman struggled, going just 3-5 as a starter and completing only 58 percent of his passes.

Like the Horned Frogs, Michigan State also struggled to throw the ball with a redshirt freshman quarterback as well. In the Spartans’ case, Andrew Maxwell never seemed to get comfortable under center, and finished 2012 completing just 52 percent of his passes. However, despite Maxwell’s struggles, running back Le’Veon Bell completed a strong 2012 campaign as the nation’s sixth-leading rusher with 1,648 yards on the ground.

Oklahoma beat Iowa 31-14 in last year’s Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl, which at the time was known as the Insight Bowl.

The game featured one of the most interesting (not to mention scary) moments of the entire bowl season, when an ESPN camera fell from the sky and nearly hit several Iowa players.
