Cardinals vs. Jets 2012: Arizona continues treating fans to bad offense

The Arizona Cardinals struggled on offense once again and dropped their eighth-straight game with a loss to the New York Jets.

Despite a dominant defensive effort, the Arizona Cardinals couldn't muster enough points and treated their fans to another abysmal offensive effort.

In a game where the Jets recorded only 289 yards, turned the ball over four times and had to bench quarterback Mark Sanchez for Greg McElroy, the Cardinals struggled even more. Ryan Lindley threw the ball 31 times and managed only 72 yards while tossing an interception. The running attack mustered just 3.9 yards per carry and that's with Rashad Johnson's 40-yard run.

The act is getting old for Revenge of the Birds:

Six points is not going to beat a lot of teams, regardless of how dominant your defense is. Another huge day for the defense in which they forced 4 turnovers and the offense failed to do anything with them. It’s very difficult to put into words just how bad the Cards were, yet here we are.

The silver lining for the Cardinals is that the defense bounced back after allowing 31 points to the St. Louis Rams last week. Safety Kerry Rhodes had two of Sanchez's three interceptions and forced a fumble, while the pass rush recorded three sacks.

Arizona might have missed its best chance to end its losing streak because the schedule doesn't get any easier with contests left with against Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers.
