Kevin Youkilis has contract offers from multiple teams

Jesse Johnson-US PRESSWIRE

It's surprising how quiet the Kevin Youkilis rumor mill has been the past two months given the number of teams looking for a third baseman and the dearth of talent available on the open market.

Well, it’s quiet no more.

The 33-year-old third baseman has reportedly received multiple contract offers from clubs looking to upgrade at the hot corner, according to WEEI’s Alex Speier. Youkilis could be a good bargain wherever he ends up, as it is believed he is willing to discuss both one-year and multi-year deals, and he will not cost his new club a draft pick.

No specifics on the offering teams have been given, but the Chicago White Sox have shown interest in bringing him back to the South Side and the New York Yankees did speak to Youkilis' agent on Tuesday.

The Greek God of Walks showed signs of mortality in 2012, hitting .235/.336/.409 with 19 home runs in 122 games with the Red Sox and White Sox, well below his career norms of .283/.384/.482.
