The No. 6 Florida gators had no trouble with the Florida St. Seminoles on Wednesday night, opening the game with a 12-2 run and cruising to a 72-47 victory over their in-state rivals. Florida's stifling defense was again on display, holding the Seminoles to 34.8 percent shooting from the floor and stealing the ball 14 times, compared to just five for Florida State.
No. 6 Florida vs. Florida State final score: Gators jump out early, take easy 72-47 win
The Florida Gators outscored the Florida State Seminoles in the first half, 35-15, and FSU had little opportunity to climb back into the game in the second half.

Mike Rosario and Kenny Boynton led scoring for the Gators, picking up 14 points each. Patric Young added another 10 points and led the team with eight rebounds, while Michael Frazier II added another 12 points off the bench. The Gator offense was again an efficient machine, shooting 49.1 percent from the floor.
FSU's leading scorer is Michael Snaer, but he posted another disappointing game. After being held to 2-of-6 shooting in the loss to Mercer, Snaer went just 3-of-8 for 10 points. The team as a whole seemed unable to shake off whatever plagued them against Mercer, and they followed up Sunday's season-low 35.4 percent shooting with a new low of 34.8 percent.
Florida improves to 7-0 with the win, and Florida State drops to 4-4. The Seminoles next face the Maine Black Bears, while the Gators will face the No. 8 Arizona Wildcats.
